Job summary

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital seeks an RN Vascular Access to provide professional nursing care, specializing in PICC and IV therapy, and to support accurate line placement and patient safety.

You will collaborate with physicians and the care team, follow aseptic technique, participate in quality improvement, advocate for patients, and educate patients and families as part of the plan of care.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation
• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma from an accredited institution required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• BLS-AHA Provider issued card required within 30 days of start
• 1-2 years of Acute care experience required
• 1-2 years of Critical care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with physicians and the health care delivery team to deliver quality care.
• Place PICC lines and peripheral IV lines; document procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique and monitor patient status.
• Participate in unit quality improvement processes.
• Advocate for patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Plan and teach patient care based on age and assessment.
• Monitor patient response and take appropriate actions based on assessment.
• Assist with IV therapy and line management as needed.
