Job summary

MOVE OVER MOZART, in the Shoreline/Bellevue area, is seeking compassionate piano teachers to lead small-group classes for children after school. You will guide beginners through engaging, structured lessons and foster a supportive learning environment that celebrates progress.

Ideal candidates are experienced with kids, have piano training, and are coachable—willing to learn and receive feedback while helping students grow in music theory and technique.

Spend your afternoons helping children explore, learn and grow through music. You will witness those quiet little breakthroughs: a new note discovered, a tricky rhythm finally mastered, a proud smile after a finished song, and you will know YOU helped make it happen.

• Studied piano with a teacher and have a solid understanding of music theory and technique

• Value patience, flexibility and connection in your approach to children
• Are organized, dependable and comfortable working independently
• Have your own transportation
• Are available on weekday afternoons during after school hours
• Live in or near Bellevue, Kirkland, or Redmond
• Can commit to teaching for at least one year

Class Description

Classes are small (maximum of 6 students) and full of energy, held at schools or community centers in your neighborhood. Students range from preschool through elementary age, grouped by age and ability. Every child in the room has signed up because they want to be there, and that makes all the difference. Lessons are joyful, interactive and thoughtfully paced to match each child's growth.

The curriculum is organized and designed especially for young beginners. You will receive hands-on training on how to guide each age group, how to teach piano in a group setting, and how to plan fun, motivating lessons that keep children engaged and progressing. Training happens both in and out of the classroom, with continued support to help you grow, refine your teaching skills, and stay connected to a team of teachers that shares your goals.
