Job description

We are seeking a vibrant, passion-driven, and dedicated Piano Instructor to inspire students of all ages to discover the profound joy of music. Operating within a studio deeply committed to both exceptional artistic standards and the holistic growth of every student, this role is centered on creating a thriving, inclusive musical community. Here, music education is more than just learning an instrument—it is about fostering lifelong creativity, building personal confidence, and nurturing a supportive ecosystem where students, families, and educators connect.

The ideal candidate will bring infectious enthusiasm, creative pedagogical strategies, and a genuine heart for youth mentorship. If you are deeply invested in guiding young musicians as they develop their unique artistic voices, and if you believe that high musical expectations should always coexist with a nurturing, community-supported environment, we invite you to help us shape the next generation of confident, passionate performers.

Responsibilities

Tailored Instruction: Deliver high-quality individual and group piano lessons that seamlessly incorporate technical skill development, robust music theory, sight-reading, and expressive, healthy performance habits.

Curriculum Design: Implement and adapt engaging piano curricula tailored to students’ individual skill levels, learning styles, and artistic goals, from early childhood beginners to advanced students.

Ensemble & Collaborative Awareness: Cultivate an understanding of collaborative musicianship, helping students connect their solo piano skills to broader musical concepts like chamber music, orchestral listening, and choral awareness.

Studio Culture: Maintain a positive, inspiring, and motivating studio environment that balances high artistic standards with supportive mentorship.

Performance & Artistry: Prepare students for regular recitals, evaluations, and community showcases that highlight their achievements, build performance confidence, and celebrate creative growth.

Community Engagement: Maintain clear, professional, and collaborative communication with parents and guardians to support student progress, practice habits, and long-term musical development.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Pedagogical Expertise: Extensive experience in piano pedagogy and studio teaching, with a deep understanding of instrumental technique, body awareness, and age-appropriate methods.
  • Neurodivergent Support (Plus): Experience or a strong background in supporting neurodivergent learners, specifically students with ADHD and ASD, is highly valued. The ability to implement adaptive teaching strategies, sensory-friendly pacing, and flexible, engaging lesson structures is a significant plus.
  • Structured & Creative Planning: Proven ability in lesson planning and curriculum sequencing for diverse age groups, with a strong emphasis on youth music education and development.
  • Comprehensive Musicianship: A strong foundational background in music theory, ear training, and music history, with the ability to make these concepts accessible and engaging to young learners.
  • Inspirational Mentorship: Excellent classroom and studio management skills, utilizing positive reinforcement to foster discipline, focus, emotional regulation, and a genuine passion for music.
  • Interdisciplinary Appreciation: An understanding of how the piano connects to the broader worlds of vocal performance, choral music, and orchestral literature is highly valued.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively guide students and build strong, collaborative partnerships with families.
