Job summary

Grand Rapids Community College is seeking an adjunct to teach Class Piano and Applied Piano Lessons at the downtown campus for the Fall Semester. The position supports music majors, general students, and community members, with classes offered in multiple modalities and times.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s in Music with teaching experience; commitment to student success and professional development is essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Music preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Music with extensive professional experience will be considered.
• Teaching experience at a community college preferred.
• Participation in professional development to remain current in the field.

Responsibilities

• Teach applied private lessons to music majors, general college students, and community members.
• Teach class piano to music majors using specified courses as needed.
• Follow the required syllabus template and meet classes as scheduled.
• State course outcomes and evaluation criteria at course start.
• Keep accurate student academic records and report grades on time.
• Provide reasonable accommodations per ADA and FERPA compliance.
• Respond to student inquiries promptly and maintain accessible course information.
