Job summary

Malman Law is seeking a Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Associate Attorney in Chicago, IL. You will manage a pre-litigation caseload, interview clients, review records, and coordinate with providers and insurers to prepare settlement demands.

Responsibilities include negotiating settlements under supervision, tracking damages, and ensuring timely case documentation. A JD and Illinois license are required, with 3–5 years of PI experience preferred.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and Illinois license to practice law.
• 3–5 years of experience in personal injury law preferred.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned personal injury cases through the pre-litigation stage.
• Conduct client intake interviews and maintain ongoing communication.
• Review medical records, bills, and police reports.
• Coordinate with clients, medical providers, insurers, and experts.
• Draft and submit settlement demands and supporting docs.
• Negotiate settlements under supervision of senior attorneys.
• Track treatment progress and damages for case valuation.
• Maintain accurate case records and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with litigation attorneys to transition cases if needed.
• Participate in team meetings and strategy discussions.
