  • Prioritize student intellectual growth by setting high expectations, monitoring and assessing performance through a variety of tools, and guiding instruction to support individual proficiency.
  • Promote a positive culture by validating students’ cultural identities, fostering a unified classroom and school culture, and building trusting relationships with students and families.
  • Engage in professional growth opportunities, including regular coaching, feedback, and development with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Contribute to the school community through additional duties such as student recruitment, an advisory class, after-school tutoring, and other support roles as needed.

POSITION

Science Teacher – Middle School and High School

LOCATION

Hiring at multiple locations, primarily in Denver, Colorado. Application links and details are provided on the roster of open positions.

SALARY

$58,000–$76,000 based on aligned years of experience (up to 10years). A relocation stipend is offered for candidates moving 75miles or more from Denver.

STATUS

Full‑time, school year; benefits eligible; exempt; in‑person position.

START

First day of new staff training at the end of July.

THE ROLE

DSST seeks passionate science teachers who foster dynamic learning environments where students actively engage in scientific inquiry, hands‑on exploration, and sense‑making. Teachers guide students in shaping their own scientific knowledge through modeling, articulate explanations, and practical applications, while ensuring an inclusive and equitable classroom for all learners.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CURRICULUM

Grades 6‑8: Integrated NGSS Science Curriculum.

HIGH SCHOOL COURSE OFFERINGS
  • Physics and/or AP Physics
  • Chemistry and/or AP Chemistry
  • Biology and/or AP Biology
  • Various Science Electives
