Job summary

Yale Cancer Center in New Haven is seeking an instructional labs specialist to support teaching labs, equipment fabrication, safety/compliance, and community outreach. You will report to the Director, Instructional Labs and work across facilities, safety, and demonstrations.

Requirements include a BS or MS in Physics or Engineering and at least three years of related work experience. The role emphasizes safety leadership, collaboration with faculty, and developing innovative instructional

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience teaching introductory physics, with an emphasis on experimental equipment and apparatus.
Demonstrated ability to problem solve, employing sound judgment and critical-thinking skills, especially with respect to experimental apparatus and repairs.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and oral form, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Acts as project leader for Instructional Technology projects.
Maintains operating systems, applications, web services, and content on the department’s servers.
Develops and reports on metrics that measure usage, reliability and client satisfaction for all technology services.
