Job summary

Yale University is seeking a Research Associate 2, MS to conduct independent research and manage a specialized laboratory in New Haven. You will oversee lab personnel, coordinate reagents, equipment, and procurement, and collaborate with the PI on finances and hiring decisions.

Qualifications

  • Experience conducting independent research in a lab.
  • Ability to supervise staff and work independently or in a team.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and training skills for complex projects.
  • High proficiency in relevant lab software and data analysis tools.
  • Master’s degree and 3 years of experience in a scientific field.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, plans, implements and evaluates complex multifaceted research projects/systems.
  • Collaborates with PI to define research endeavors and develop hypotheses and approaches.
  • Solves methodological problems through design of techniques and policies.
  • Develops long range plans for supplies and equipment to ensure smooth operation.
  • Investigates, analyzes and evaluates data to reach scientific conclusions.
  • Coordinates major lab renovations with Facilities, Health and Safety and Purchasing.
  • Prepares scientific reports and papers for proposals and published reports.
  • May perform other duties as assigned; requires Master’s degree and 3 years of experience.
