Job summary

Aiken Technical College is recruiting Physics Adjunct Instructors to teach multiple sections across the curriculum. Class schedules will vary by semester and may include daytime, evenings, weekends, and online formats. Faculty may work a split schedule and teach dual enrollment courses in assigned high schools.

Duties include hands-on and theory instruction, syllabus development, and maintaining course materials, with emphasis on safe and effective laboratory work and student supervision.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physics or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Physics.
• Experience teaching physics is preferred.
• Ability to design syllabus and lesson plans.

Responsibilities

• Instruction including hands-on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks such as reports, syllabus and lesson plan development.
• Prepare and/or maintain current course syllabi for courses taught.
• Ensure that courses are taught in accordance with established syllabi.
• Recommend instructional materials for courses.
• Recommend suitable laboratory facilities and equipment for assigned courses.
• Supervision of students.

Class schedules will vary from semester to semester. Classes may meet in the daytime, evenings, weekends, or online. Faculty may be asked to work a split schedule (morning and evening classes) as well as teach dual enrollment courses in assigned high schools.
