Job summary

Arcfield in Colorado Springs seeks a physicist to perform scientific analysis and modeling of fratricide and radiation environments affecting Navy systems and personnel. You will use MCNP/Attila and programming languages (C++, Python) to develop models and deliver technical reports and briefings.

The role requires a BS in Physics or Nuclear Engineering with 5–7 years experience; MS 3–5 years; or PhD 0–2 years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics or Nuclear Engineering with 5–7 years of experience; MS 3–5 years; PhD 0–2 years. Advanced degrees preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
• Experience in experimental design, execution, and modeling.
• Experience applying physical models to formal analysis of physical systems.
• Experience writing technical reports and presenting results to technical and government customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform scientific analysis and computational modeling of fratricide, normal, hostile, and intrinsic radiation environments for Navy systems and personnel.
• Use radiation transport codes (MCNP, Attila) and programming languages (C++, Python) to develop and verify models.
• Develop technical documentation, briefs, and deliverables for Navy customers.
• Collaborate with software engineers to implement physics-based analysis into maintainable software.
• Interface with customers, assist in planning and qualification activities, and travel as required.
• Contribute to verification & validation of simulation models and results.
• Assist in test planning and execution at radiation, electrical, and mechanical facilities.
