Job summary

NorthBay Health is seeking a Board-Certified Urgent Care Physician to join our Northern California team. This outpatient role delivers timely, high-quality care for non-life-threatening conditions in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

You will consult with patients, order diagnostic tests, monitor results, and educate families. Collaboration with APPs and participation in hospital committees are expected.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and board certification in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or related field.
• Licensed to practice medicine in California.
• Experience in urgent care or emergency medicine.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving and communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients to assess urgent care needs and determine treatment plans.
• Recommend and order diagnostic tests to evaluate illnesses and injuries.
• Monitor lab results and medication adherence.
• Prescribe treatments, therapies, medications, and vaccinations as necessary.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, results, and options.
• Refer patients to specialists when needed; collaborate with APPs and supervise them.
• Participate in hospital committees and clinical initiatives.

Our Urgent Care centers provide high-quality, immediate care for non-life-threatening conditions, with compassionate staff and easy access to a comprehensive network of specialists if needed. • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM & Saturday-Sunday & Holidays, 8:00AM to 5:00PM
• Inpatient/Outpatient Responsibilities: Outpatient only
• Daily Patient Census: Average 20-40 patients per day
• Equipment/Resources: Access to state-of-the-art medical equipment and comprehensive resources
• Provider Support: Collaborative team of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
• Primary Responsibilities:

• Recommend and order diagnostic tests to evaluate illnesses and injuries
• Monitor lab results and medication adherence
• Prescribe treatments, therapies, medications, and vaccinations as necessary
• Educate patients and families on procedures, test results, and treatment options
• Refer patients to specialists when needed
• Actively participate in hospital committees and initiatives
• Collaborate with and supervise APPs to enhance patient care

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Board-certified in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or a related field
• Licensed to practice medicine in the state of California
• Proven experience in urgent care or emergency medicine settings
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Compensation and Perks:

• Income Guarantee at $354,000
• Full-time: 15 shifts per month - 1 shift: 10 hours
• APP Supervision: $12,000 per year per 1.0 FTE APP
• Signing Bonus: up to $30,000
• Retention Bonus (beginning at the completion of the 2nd year): up to $30,000 per year
• Relocation bonus: Up to $10,000 (based on location)
