Job summary

NorthBay Health is seeking a Board-Certified, Licensed Urgent Care Physician to join our Northern California health system.

Outpatient only, 10-hour shifts at our American Canyon location, with Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–7:00 PM and some weekend coverage; you’ll work with a collaborative team and supervise APPs.

Primary compensation includes a guaranteed income, signing bonus up to $50,000, relocation assistance, CME reimbursement, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Board-certified in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or related field.
• Licensed to practice medicine in California.
• Experience in urgent care or emergency medicine.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients to assess urgent care needs and determine treatment plans.
• Recommend and order diagnostic tests to evaluate illnesses and injuries.
• Monitor lab results and medication adherence.
• Prescribe treatments, therapies, medications, and vaccinations as necessary.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, test results, and treatment options.
• Refer patients to specialists when needed.
• Actively participate in hospital committees and initiatives.
• Collaborate with and supervise APPs to enhance patient care.

Practice Description

• Urgent Care Location: American Canyon, CA
• Hours of business: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Saturday, Sundays, Weekends 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM -
• Shift: 10-hour daily shift
• Inpatient/Outpatient Responsibilities: Outpatient only
• Call Ratio: Balanced call ratio shared among physicians and sites
• Daily Patient Census: Average 20-40 patients per day
• Equipment/Resources: Access to state-of-the-art medical equipment and comprehensive resources
• Provider Support: Collaborative team of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)

Compensation and Benefits (Based on 1.0 FTE W2)

Total compensation up to $444,482 annualized 1st year

• Income Guarantee at $354,548 (Year 1-2)
• APP Supervision: $12,000 per year per 1.0 FTE APP
• Signing Bonus: up to $50,000
• Retention Bonus (beginning at the completion of the 2nd year): up to $30,000 per year
• Relocation bonus: Up to $20,000 (based on location)
• CME/Dues reimbursement up to $8,000 annually
• Quality incentive eligible beginning year 3

Compensation Structure

NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1-5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.
