Job summary

Hartford Healthcare-GoHealth Urgent Care seeks experienced Physicians to join an expanding urgent care network in Connecticut. Physicians will treat adults and children with acute episodic conditions, order and interpret tests, and provide follow-up care in a collaborative environment. Expect opportunities across multiple CT locations with per diem options and supervision of mid-level providers.

Qualifications

• Licensed physician with board-eligibility or board-certification in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine
• Experience in urgent care or emergency department settings with adult and pediatric patients
• Strong diagnostic, procedural, and patient-education skills

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat patients
• Take patients’ medical histories
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays
• Make diagnoses and prescribe medications
• Treat minor injuries requiring sutures, splints, or casting
• Record progress notes for follow-up patients
• Educate and counsel patients
• Order and/or carry out therapy with patients
• Give vaccinations and refer patients to additional care
• Supervise GoHealth PAs/NPs remotely when cases are presented for supervision
• Act as collaborating physician for up to four PAs/NPs in credentialing process (DOP)
• Work per diem for 20 hours monthly

We are seeking experienced Physicians who have urgent care or emergency room experience, treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in the surrounding region.

Job Summary

Physicians independently perform a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections and are also responsible for selecting and utilizing appropriate diagnostics and/or therapeutic procedures for patients.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited medical school required

Work Experience

• 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required
• Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting required
• Adult and pediatric practice experience

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible by an ABMS member board or AOA specialty board in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine
• Active state medical licensure

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting
• Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Preferred

• Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
• Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills
