Job summary

Hartford Healthcare-GoHealth Urgent Care is expanding its urgent care network in Connecticut. We seek experienced physicians with urgent care or emergency medicine backgrounds to treat both adult and pediatric patients in a collaborative, patient-focused setting.

The role covers a broad range of clinical services, including exam, tracing histories, ordering tests, diagnosing, and treating injuries. Per diem options include remote supervision of PAs/NPs with credentialing support.

Qualifications

• Board certification/eligibility in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine required.
• 2–5 years of post-residency clinical experience required.
• Adult and pediatric practice experience required.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat patients.
• Take patients' medical histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays.
• Make diagnoses and prescribe medications.
• Treat minor injuries requiring sutures, splints, or casting.
• Record progress notes for follow-up patients.
• Educate and counsel patients.
• Order and/or carry out therapy with patients.
• Provide vaccinations and refer patients for additional care.
• Supervise GoHealth PAs/NPs remotely when cases are presented for supervision.
• Act as Collaborating Physician for up to four PA/NPs during credentialing.
• Per diem entails 20 hours monthly.

We are seeking experienced Physicians who have urgent care or emergency room experience, treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in the surrounding region.

Job Summary:

Physicians independently perform a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections and are also responsible for selecting and utilizing appropriate diagnostics and/or therapeutic procedures for patients.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited medical school required

Work Experience

• 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required
• Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting required
• Adult and pediatric practice experience

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible by an ABMS member board or AOA specialty board in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine
• Active state medical licensure

Additional Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

• Experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting
• Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Preferred

• Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
• Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills
