Job summary

Hartford Healthcare-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking experienced physicians for expanding urgent care network across Connecticut. You will treat both adult and pediatric patients, perform exams, order tests, and use diagnostics to guide care in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires medical school graduation, board eligibility or certification in Family or Emergency Medicine, and active licensure. Strong EMR skills and patient‑centered communication are valued in our diverse team.

• Urgent care or emergency medicine experience required.
• Treat adult and pediatric patients.
• Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat patients in urgent care setting.
• Take patients' medical histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays.
• Make diagnoses and prescribe medications.
• Treat minor injuries requiring sutures, splints, or casting.
• Educate and counsel patients and families.
• Supervise GoHealth PA/NPs remotely when cases are presented for supervision.
• Act as Collaborating Physician for PA/NPs during credentialing, including signoff of privileges.
• Meet per diem requirement of 20 hours monthly.

We are seeking experienced Physicians who have urgent care or emergency room experience, treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in the surrounding region.

Job Summary

Physicians independently perform a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections and are also responsible for selecting and utilizing appropriate diagnostics and/or therapeutic procedures for patients.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited medical school required

Work Experience

• 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required
• Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting required
• Adult and pediatric practice experience

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible by an ABMS member board or AOA specialty board in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine
• Active state medical licensure

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting
• Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Preferred

• Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
• Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Job Responsibilities Include

• 20 hours required monthly for per diem
