Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS)
VAPAHCS is a teaching hospital affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine, providing patient care, education, and research across various specialties including psychiatry. It trains approximately 1,300 residents, interns, and students annually. The facility operates nearly 900 beds, including three nursing homes and a 100-bed homeless domiciliary, serving over 85,000 veterans.

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a half-hour unpaid lunch, primarily at the VAPAHCS Acute Inpatient Mental Health Units.
