The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a psychiatrist for their Kauai Community Based Outpatient Clinic. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
Duties

The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be August 5th, 2025, with subsequent cut-off dates every 5 days. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday and some Saturdays, 7:30am - 4:00pm
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

The VA Kauai Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) Mental Health Service Line provides care in outpatient programs. Psychiatrists assigned to the Mental Health Service Line provide psychiatric care for outpatients. The Mental Health Service Line has one full-time psychiatrist position that reports to the VA Kauai CBOC Chief/Mental Health Supervisor who is responsible for the overall clinical and administrative function of the Mental Health Service.
Psychiatrists are able to perform and teach all of the services required in the practice of psychiatry to psychiatry residents. Educational experiences are also provided to appropriate health care personnel who seek training in mental health services (e.g. medical students, psychology and social work interns, physician assistant and nursing students, and non-psychiatry medical residents).
