Summary
This position is located at Indian Health Service Hospitals or Clinics under the Navajo Area Office. The primary purpose is to serve as a technical expert in Pediatrics.

Duties

1. Provide medical practice or direct patient services, including diagnostic, preventative, or therapeutic services in hospitals and clinics.
2. Prescribe or administer treatments, medications, vaccinations, and other medical care.
3. Order, perform, interpret tests, and analyze records to diagnose conditions.
4. Maintain patient information, monitor progress, and re-evaluate treatments.
5. Explain procedures and discuss test results or treatments with patients.
6. Coordinate with healthcare professionals like Nurses, Pharmacists, and Social Workers.

Requirements

Conditions of Employment include U.S. Citizenship, background checks, licensure, immunizations, and on-call duties. The position may require a probationary period and adherence to specific health and safety policies.

Qualifications

Experience and education must demonstrate the ability to perform the duties. For GS-13, 3 years of graduate training or equivalent experience in Pediatrics is required. Applicants must meet basic educational and licensure requirements, and meet the specific board certification or active pursuit of certification as a qualifying criterion.
