Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Patient Account Representative in Birmingham, AL. Under general supervision and according to policies, you will perform duties related to the payment posting function of the MSO, including posting deposits, payments, denials and adjustments and reconciling manual and electronic batches.

You will need a high school diploma, strong written and verbal communication, basic computer skills, and 1–3 years of related experience with payor-specific or medical reimbursement

++What You Will Do++:

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs a variety of duties related to the payment posting function of the Management Services Organization (MSO).

Such duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Processes and/or posts deposits, payments, denials, and adjustments.
• Reconciles manual and electronic batches,
• Performs other duties as assigned by direct supervisors.

++What You Will Need++:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• One to three years of related experience and general knowledge of payor-specific or medical speciality reimbursement.
• Must be self-directed / self-motivated; must have good communication and interpersonal skills.

Must be able to:

• Perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure;
• Accept responsibility for the direction, control and planning of an one’s own work;
• Ability to work independently;
• Recognize the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality;

• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding. Previous experience with STAR / Waystar / Phreesia / EPIC
