Physician (Occupational Medicine) at Naval Hospital Bremerton, Washington. The position is located in the Clinical Support Occupational Therapy Branch, Bangor, WA location, Naval Hospital, Bremerton, WA. It is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
Responsibilities
- Perform occupational physical examinations of various types including pre-placement, medical surveillance, medical qualification, disability retirement, fitness for duty, and any other special employee examinations that may be required.
- Counsel employees on workplace hazards and exam results.
- Notify management of exam results and recommend appropriate work restrictions or accommodations.
- Interpret ancillary test results for evidence of possible occupational disease or confounding personal health conditions.
- Serve as a member of the professional medical staff and provide advisory and consultative services at meetings, committees, conferences, or boards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Appointment subject to suitability or fitness determination based on background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout employment.
- Position requires pre-employment testing and random drug screening; consent required.
- Required pre-placement medical examination and tuberculosis testing.
- Required immunization screening, including Hepatitis B for all patient‑contact positions.
- Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross.
- Must meet credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain relevant clinical privileges.
- Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution (or equivalence through ECFMG or other recognized pathways).
- Valid, active, full, and unrestricted physician license from a U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, or territory.
- At least one year of supervised clinical experience after medical school (internship or first year of residency).
- Completed accredited residency in Preventive Medicine, Aerospace Medicine, or Occupational Medicine (minimum 4 years of equivalent experience).
