Position Overview

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine seeks a hospitalist for a full-time faculty hospitalist position (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in the primary locations of Morgantown, WV and Fairmont, WV, and may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

Duties

• Practice Internal Medicine / Hospitalist Medicine
• Provide excellent patient care as part of inpatient hospitalist service
• Assume night coverage with admissions and cross coverage responsibilities
• Actively involve in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, including one‑on‑one settings and team rounding
• Participate in consults for Department of Medicine and subspecialty fellowship training
• Manage patients through specialty service lines such as cardiovascular, oncology, end‑stage renal disease, long‑term antibiotic infusion, geriatric fracture, complicated infectious disease, and post‑acute care
• Serve 26 weeks annually of clinical duties

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and eligibility for state medical license
• Completed an Internal Medicine residency program
• Board‑certified or eligible in Internal Medicine
