MaineHealth Neurosurgery & Spine is seeking a BC/BE fellowship-trained Spine Neurosurgeon to join our team-based practice. The ideal candidate would be 4-10 years out of residency with a strong background in general neurosurgery and fellowship training. A focus on minimally invasive spine surgery is preferred. Research is encouraged and supported.

The position includes:

1. Joining a practice focused on complex spine, pediatric and adult spinal deformity, functional neurosurgery, tumor and skull base surgery, cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery, including Maine’s only Pediatric Neurosurgeon.
2. Working alongside nine fellowship-trained Neurosurgeons and a team of physiatrists, osteopaths, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, and nurses.
3. In-house coverage provided 24/7 by Advanced Practice Professionals.
4. Shared call responsibilities approximately 1:8, covering cranial and spine cases.
5. Access to CT and MRI 24/7.
6. Neurocritical care provided by a dedicated team at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland.
7. Work at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland, Maine’s largest medical center with 700 licensed beds.
8. The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, Maine’s only dedicated pediatric hospital within MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland.
9. Access to Maine’s only ACS-verified Level 1 Trauma Center.
10. Part of the Neuroscience Service Line at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland, a regional neuroscience center of excellence.

Desired Qualifications:

1. Board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
2. Completion of fellowship or specialty training.
