West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Departmentof Medicine seek an Infectious Diseases physician (ranksavailable: Assistant Professor or Associate Professor orProfessor). The successful candidate will be expected to practicein Morgantown, WV.

Duties

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of adultInfectious Diseases (ID). Clinical responsibilities will include amix of ID inpatient, outpatient and telehealth service. Animportant component of this position is helping to support andexpand our Musculoskeletal ID consult service and also follow up inoutpatient combined ID/Orthopedic clinic. In addition to providingexcellent patient care, the successful candidate will also beactively involved in teaching medical students, residents, andfellows. Candidate will also be expected to participate in scholarly activities.

The ID Division has 14 faculty with diverse expertise, skills, andexperience. We also have excellent APPs who work closely with IDfaculty and fellows. The ID Division is recognized for valuablecontributions to all our missions, education, service andscholarship. Many faculty have won teaching awards not only locallyand regionally but also nationally. Areas of expertise/focusinclude health care epidemiology, musculoskeletal infections,HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B, C, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Transplant ID,OPAT, and COpAT. ID Division has an active fellowship program with100% ID Board pass rate.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreignequivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successfulcandidate must have completed an Internal Medicine ResidencyProgram as well as infectious diseases fellowship program.Successful candidates must be board certified/eligible ininfectious diseases. All qualifications must be met by the time ofappointment.
