Additional Job Description: West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department ofMedicine and WVU Heart & Vascular Institute seek an InfectiousDiseases/Critical Care physician (ranks available: AssistantProfessor or Associate Professor or Professor). The successfulcandidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.
Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of adultInfectious Diseases (ID) and Critical Care Medicine. Clinicalresponsibilities will include a mix of ID inpatient and outpatientand Critical Care Medicine. The position will support 50/50 both IDand Critical Care. In addition to providing excellent patient care,the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teachingmedical students, residents, and fellows. Candidate willalso be expected to participate in scholarly activities.
The ID Division has 15 faculty with diverse expertise,skills, and experience. We also have excellent APPs who workclosely with ID faculty and fellows. The ID Division is recognizedfor valuable contributions to all our missions, education, service,and scholarship. Many faculty have won teaching awards not onlylocally and regionally but also nationally. Areas ofexpertise/focus include health care epidemiology, musculoskeletalinfections, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B, C, antimicrobial stewardship,Transplant ID, telehealth, OPAT, and COpAT. ID Division has anactive fellowship program with 100% ID Board pass rate.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreingequivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successfulcandidate must have completed an Internal Medicine ResidencyProgram as well as Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program andCritical Care Fellowship. Successful candidates must be boardcertified/eligible in infectious diseases and critical care. Allqualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
