Job summary

Birmingham Gastroenterology Associates is seeking a Physician Liaison to strengthen relationships with referring providers and healthcare organizations across the community. The role focuses on promoting GI services, endoscopy programs, and growth in referrals while improving access to care.

The ideal candidate will be a relationship-focused healthcare professional with experience in developing referral networks and working with physicians, hospital systems, and clinical teams to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Minimum 3 years of local healthcare business development, physician liaison, physician relations, healthcare sales, or provider outreach experience required.
• Experience calling on Primary Care Physicians preferred; gastroenterology/hospitals or ambulatory centers experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with primary care providers, family medicine physicians, internists, NPs, PAs, hospitalists, surgeons, oncologists, and other referral sources.
• Conduct regular in-person visits to physician offices, health systems, clinics, and community healthcare organizations.
• Educate referral sources regarding practice services, provider specialties, procedure availability, and referral processes.
• Guide referring offices regarding access, scheduling, and practice-related concerns.
• Strengthen referral relationships and identify opportunities to increase procedural and consultation volume.
• Develop referral source profiles and maintain accurate documentation of outreach activities.
• Promote the practice's GI services, including colonoscopy, GERD, IBS, Crohn's, and hepatology programs; monitor growth and market share.
