Job summary

The Indian Health Service is seeking a qualified physician to join our team in serving American Indian and Alaska Native communities. You will provide comprehensive medical care, collaborate with diverse health professionals, and support patient-centered outcomes.

Responsibilities include evaluating a wide range of health needs, performing procedures as trained, and engaging in ongoing education and quality improvement to advance care delivery. Licensure and credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Degree: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited school.
• Active, full medical license in a U.S. state or territory.
• Graduate medical education (internship/residency) compliant with ACGME/AOA standards.
• U.S. citizenship and Selective Service registration as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care across acute, chronic, and preventive needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated care.
• Perform specialty-specific diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or surgical procedures as trained and credentialed.
• Contribute to teaching, mentorship, and professional development of staff and trainees.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical innovation initiatives.
