Responsibilities

• Provide hospice physician locum tenens coverage for an interdisciplinary hospice team.
• Work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
• Participate in IDT meetings; some meetings may be remote.
• Provide rotating on-call coverage every fourth week.
• Conduct hospice admissions and eligibility assessments.
• Perform recertifications and verbal certifications.
• Manage symptom control and prescribe medications for adult hospice patients.
• Documentation in Epic EMR; ensure death certificates as needed.
• Work primarily remotely after initial on-site orientation.

Job Title: Hospice and Palliative Medicine
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $135 - $146/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Hospice and Palliative Medicine for a temporary assignment in Madison, Wisconsin. These positions are 13-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Hospice and Palliative Medicine:

• Provide hospice physician locum tenens coverage for an interdisciplinary hospice team, nursing staff, and clinical support staff
• Work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings held every other week, Tuesday through Thursday, which may be conducted remotely
• Provide rotating telephone-based on-call coverage every fourth week, Sunday through Saturday
• Conduct hospice admissions and eligibility assessments
• Perform recertifications and verbal certifications for hospice patients
• Manage symptom control and prescribe medications for primarily adult hospice patients
• Provide clinical oversight and documentation utilizing Epic EMR (strongly preferred)
• Complete death certificates as needed
• Work primarily remotely following initial on-site orientation
• Maintain valid Wisconsin state medical license
• Maintain active DEA registration due to medication prescribing responsibilities
• Demonstrate hospice and palliative medicine experience; board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine preferred
• Ensure CV is submitted in mm/yy–mm/yy format with explanations for any work history gaps over 30 days
• Be responsible for any facility-issued equipment and ensure its return at the end of the assignment
