Astrya Global Medical Staffing is hiring a Cardiologist for a 60-week locum tenens assignment in Madison, Wisconsin. The role involves both inpatient and outpatient coverage, with 8a–4p hours and on-call duties as scheduled, plus potential for remote reads.

The candidate should maintain board certification in Cardiology, complete an approved fellowship (Cardiac Imaging preferred), hold a Wisconsin license and active DEA, and maintain BLS/ACLS certifications. EPIC is used for documentation.

Job Title: Cardiologist
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Schedule: 1:00PM - 9:30PM x 5
Term: 60-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $232 - $250/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Cardiologist for a temporary assignment in Madison, Wisconsin. These positions are 60-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Cardiologist:

• Provide general/non-invasive cardiology coverage for inpatient service line and outpatient clinic as needed
• Round with the APP team (1 physician and 3 APPs) on inpatient service; inpatient patient volume ranges from approximately 7–22 patients per day
• Supervise and collaborate with APPs as part of the shared team caseload
• Perform and interpret ECHOs and EKGs
• Manage cardiology conditions including chest pain/ACS, heart failure, hypertension/dyslipidemia, atrial fibrillation/other arrhythmias, and valve disease
• Interpret stress testing (treadmill, nuclear, and echo), echocardiograms, and Holter/event monitors
• Cover outpatient clinic as needed, with an average volume of approximately 15 patients per day
• Provide night call coverage (4p–7a) and weekend 24-hour call (Friday 4p – Monday 7a) per schedule
• Work Monday through Friday, 8a–4p, in addition to call responsibilities
• Cover both inpatient and outpatient services; candidates unwilling to cover both will not be considered
• Potential for some evening remote reads as part of coverage responsibilities
• Utilize EPIC for documentation and charting
• Complete online EMR modules or pre-employment training prior to first day of assignment
• Maintain board certification in Cardiology (General Cardiology fellowship required; Cardiac Imaging preferred)
• Maintain valid Wisconsin state license and active DEA registration
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Adhere to COVID-19 vaccination requirements (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Return any facility-issued equipment at the end of the assignment
