Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Physician Coder to code and abstract hospital physician services in alignment with ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS, and CMS directives. You will collaborate with Medical Records, Finance, and Physician Billing to ensure accurate data flow.

Minimum 1–3 years of CPT/HCPCS physician coding experience required; RHIA/RHIT/CPC/CCS-P credentials preferred. This role includes educational sessions for medical staff and adherence to coding guidelines across

Qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS-P credentials required with coding knowledge.
• Experience in CPT/HCPCS physician coding and ICD guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Codes and abstracts hospital physician services per ICD-9/10, CPT-4, HCPCS, CMS guidelines.
• Uses 3M Encoder to validate RVUs and CPT-4 unbundling.
• Maintains coding accuracy at 95% per quality reviews.
• Maintains daily productivity as defined by department standards.
• Stays current on coding guidelines for inpatient, observation, surgical, and E/M services.
• Performs data entry of abstracted physician information into databases.
• Leads educational sessions to medical staff on coding and documentation compliance.
