Job description

Seeking BE/BC Family Medicine provider to join a truly supportive team south of Fresno, CA for outpatient practice, seeing all ages from birth to geriatrics, including in-office procedures and women's health.

About the role:

• Primary care friendly Athena EMR. We provide training and 1:1 HIT assistance on the first day of practice, including Dragon Dictation, templates, smart phrases, and Up-to-Date access.
• 2 or more providers at each site.
• You will have 2 dedicated bilingual MAs and a receptionist, with Language Line support provided. MAs undergo 3 weeks of intensive training initially. The care model involves providers seeing patients once, with MAs managing the rest.
• Work schedule: M-F, 8-hour shifts. Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm; some centers open until 8 pm on Mondays; providers rotate covering the 11 am to 8 pm shift.
• Telephone call only: 1 week primary and 1 week backup per year, with about 10-15 calls weekly. Calls can be handled remotely as long as you have phone access.
• Each physician has 3 exam rooms.
• Referral Center: providers submit referrals through the patient chart; staff handle pre-authorization, scheduling, follow-up, and chart note management.
• E-consults are available for specialties with longer wait times; send documentation, labs, etc., and receive recommendations within 48 hours.
• Structured workflow includes 2 hours daily for charting and catch-up, excluding lunch.
• Standard patient volume is 24 patients per day, but this is not mandatory.
• J1 waiver eligibility.

Organizational Environment:

• State-of-the-art facilities with interdisciplinary teams offering comprehensive care—medical, dental, mental health, chiropractic, optometry, x-ray, and lab services.
• On-site pharmacies in larger centers and ultrasound services in three locations.
• Seven urgent care centers.
• In-house specialists include OBGYN, Sports Medicine, Sleep Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Pediatrics.
• Partnerships with specialists in Cardiology, Pulmonology, Nephrology, Vascular Surgery, Orthopedics, and Ophthalmology, with visits 1-2 days per week.
• 30 clinic sites across Fresno and surrounding areas; the furthest is about an hour away.
• Growing organization with 4 new sites opened in 2022, 3 in 2023, and 3 planned for 2024.
• Own accredited Family Medicine residency and PA programs; collaborations with Fresno State and Fresno Pacific Universities for FNP student rotations; medical student rotations from CHSU, D.O. schools.
• Approximately 1,000 employees.
• Free transportation services for appointments and medication pickups.
• High-quality scores and patient satisfaction.
• Patient demographic includes underserved populations, as well as self-pay and insured patients.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base salary of $270,000.
• Bonuses for seeing more than 20 patients per day; e.g., an extra $2,000/month for 24 patients/day. Receptionists are also eligible for bonuses.
• Additional pay for on-call duties.
• Preceptor roles are available for extra compensation, though not required.
