Job summary

The American Board of Anesthesiology is seeking a Physician Engagement Specialist I to act as the primary contact for physicians and ABA constituents. You will handle high‑volume inquiries, verify records in CRM/ABA GO, apply policies, and document interactions with precision to support certification and MOCA processes.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in a professional office or contact center, excellent written and verbal communication, and a proactive customer service mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, medical education, credentialing, certification, or member services is a plus.
• Ability to learn policies and systems quickly and apply them consistently.
• Strong written and verbal communication and empathy.
• Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to write quality emails that meet established standards.
• Proficiency with computer systems; comfortable learning CRM/portals/Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction and high‑quality work product in a service‑driven culture.
• Answer inbound phone calls and respond to shared inbox emails in a high‑volume environment; provide accurate information and ensure follow‑up within defined timelines.
• Research and verify physician information in CRM/ABA GO to address questions and determine next steps.
• Apply ABA policies, procedures, scripts, and templates to resolve inquiries; communicate requirements clearly.
• Draft high‑quality written responses aligned with ABA policy; ensure emails address the constituent’s question and include next steps.
• Provide basic troubleshooting support for ABA online systems and escalate technical issues.
• Document each constituent interaction in CRM; ensure notes are accurate and professional.
• Identify when escalation is needed and route cases with complete details.
• Support onboarding of new staff through shadowing and sharing standard resources.
• Travel to support remote ABA operations and may serve as oral examination staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
