Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree with eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in Maryland.

  • Prior experience in graduate medical education (core faculty, assistant/associate program director, or similar role) preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.

Meritus Health is seeking a dedicated and dynamic physician leader to serve as the Associate Program Director (APD) for a new Emergency Medicine Residency Program. This is an exciting opportunity to help build and shape a residency program within a rapidly expanding academic health system and a newly established osteopathic medical school.

About the Opportunity

Meritus Health is evolving into a regional academic medical center with a growing portfolio of ACGME-accredited residency programs and the Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine. As part of this continued expansion, the development of an Emergency Medicine residency represents a key addition to an actively growing graduate medical education enterprise, aligned with the health system’s mission to meet community and regional workforce needs. The Associate Program Director will work closely with the Program Director to support the development, implementation, and ongoing success of the residency program while contributing to the broader academic mission of the institution.

Position Overview
  • Support the development, ACGME accreditation, and implementation of a new Emergency Medicine Residency Program
  • Assist in building a program grounded in clinical excellence, innovation, and community‑focused care
