Luke Staffing is seeking a Physician – Dermatology to provide dermatology care at Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, CO, and related locations. The role includes outpatient dermatology, procedural care, and complex dermatology consultations for military beneficiaries.

The position requires board-certified or eligible dermatology training, US citizenship, a valid unrestricted license in the United States, and completion of an ACGME-accredited dermatology residency or fellowship.

Qualifications

  • Must hold an MD or DO degree from an approved medical school.
  • Must have completed a Dermatology residency or fellowship accredited by ACGME.
  • Current board certification in Dermatology (ABD/AOCD acceptable if eligible).
  • Must be US citizen with unrestricted license to practice.

Responsibilities

  • Examine, diagnose, and treat skin diseases, hair, nails, and mucosal areas.
  • Perform dermatologic procedures including biopsies and laser/phototherapy as appropriate.
  • Prescribe medications and manage treatment plans for dermatologic conditions.
  • Provide consultative services and evaluate referred patients.
  • Document care in EMR and participate in quality assurance activities.

Physician – Dermatology
SITE OF SERVICE:

Evans Army Community Hospital (EACH), 1650 Cochrane Cir, Fort Carson, CO 80913, and other applicable locations within the MOU and ERSA.

HOURS:

Monday through Friday with a 60-minute uncompensated lunch. Duty hours are 0700-1600, Monday through Friday. On-call hours: N/A.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Physician, Dermatology supporting Evans Army Community Hospital provides specialty skin care for a military beneficiary population in a collaborative clinical and consultative setting. This position includes outpatient dermatology, procedural care, and consultation for complex dermatologic conditions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education

Successfully completed a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an approved medical school or osteopathy program; foreign medical graduates must possess an Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates certificate.

Licensure

Must maintain a current unrestricted license in the U.S. jurisdiction within which the contract worker is performing.

Internship/Residency/Fellowship:

Successfully completed a Dermatology residency or fellowship program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

Certification

Current American Board of Dermatology specialty board certification or American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology specialty board certification; if enrolled in Maintenance of Certification, must successfully complete requirements to maintain certification.

Cardiac Certification(s):
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
Experience

Minimum of 24 months in the last 60 months of documented current clinical independent experience and competency. Must have the level of experience and documented current clinical competency to be awarded Regular” privileges to work independently. Experience working in a Government setting such a DOD or department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF is preferable. Recent completion of an accredited dermatology residency or fellowship program may be used to satisfy part or all of this requirement.

Citizenship

U.S. citizenship is required.

Language

All contractor personnel must demonstrate professional proficiency in the English language.

Physical Capability

This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods; lift and move patients or equipment as required by the clinical setting; and perform the physical demands inherent to the specialty.

DUTIES
  • Examines, diagnoses, and treats diseases of the skin, hair, mucosal surfaces, and nails.
  • Performs biopsies and other dermatologic diagnostic techniques.
  • Prescribes treatment including medication, cutaneous laser treatments, phototherapy, iontophoresis, and photodynamic therapy.
  • Advises on dermatological supplies and equipment.
  • Eradicates biopsy-proven cutaneous malignancies or refers appropriately.
  • Communicates with patients, families, and team members in both verbal and written formats.
  • Uses electronic medical records and other information systems to document care and review health information.
  • Provides consultative services and evaluates referred patients.
  • Conducts TDRL evaluations, medical boards, and fitness for duty evaluations.
  • Participates in quality assurance and peer review activities
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
