Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. seeks a Medical Director in Beaumont, VA to lead clinical operations in a correctional healthcare setting. The role offers local pay: $135/hour (W2) with a dedicated team and a supportive work environment.

Duties include examining, diagnosing, and treating patients with acute and chronic conditions, developing treatment plans, ordering tests, and coordinating care with nurses and specialists. Schedule is Mon–Fri 8:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted VA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 1+ year within the last 3 years of recent experience as a Medical Director
• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and chronic conditions.
• Develop treatment plans and prescribe medications as appropriate.
• Order and review laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies.
• Provide preventive care, health screenings, and patient education.
• Manage chronic illnesses and monitor changes in patient condition.
• Coordinate care with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
• Follow facility policies, safety standards, and applicable healthcare regulations.
