Schedule Details/Additional Information: Full time First Shift. This is a REMOTE opportunity.
Major Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Coding Leadership, IT, Org Development, Revenue Cycle, and Compliance teams.
- Deliver coding and documentation education through in-person and virtual classes for training and ongoing education, including developing presentations and tools.
- Identify and report educational needs, and develop tailored training sessions for coders and clinicians.
- Apply adult learning principles, maintain schedules, and utilize platforms like Learning Connection, ATMS, Skype, or Teams for organization-wide presentations.
- Develop and manage web-based coding education programs, track progress, and evaluate effectiveness, adjusting content as needed.
- Create comprehensive educational materials, including learner manuals and facilitator guides, and conduct "train the trainer" sessions.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- AHIMA: CCA, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT
- AAPC: CPC, CPC-I, SCP
- BMSC: Specialty Coding Certification
Education Required:
- Post-secondary training in Medical Coding, including an accredited program.
Experience Required:
- At least 5 years in medical coding, with experience in physician revenue cycle and health information workflows.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Expertise in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding guidelines, and medical terminology.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and educational program facilitation.
- Proficiency in online and in-person teaching methods, Microsoft Office, and electronic communication tools.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to various environments, and manage multiple tasks.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to speak to groups and build relationships.
- Must be able to concentrate continuously and operate necessary equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment, with travel as needed.
- Must have functional speech, hearing, and senses for effective communication.
