Qualifications

• Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding for professional billing.
• Follows official coding guidelines and payer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review physician documentation and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for professional billing.
• Apply E/M levels, modifiers, and procedure codes per documentation and payer requirements.
• Ensure coding supports medical necessity and payer guidelines.
• Perform validation and quality checks for accuracy and compliance.
• Identify documentation gaps and request clarification from providers.
• Utilize Epic and eCW, and clearinghouses Waystar/FinThrive to support clean claims.
• Maintain knowledge of NCCI edits, LCDs, NCDs, and payer policies.
• Collaborate with revenue cycle and clinical teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and follow organizational policies.
• Participate in training to maintain coding competency.
