The Clinical Solutions Division uses industry-leading content to create a wide variety of services, including Clinical & Drug Reference, Patient Engagement, Performance Management, Workflow, Decision Support, and Clinical Pathways products. Our tools aid in disease management, medication error reduction, effective patient management, economic analysis, and cost control. We provide extensive enterprise solutions to healthcare providers nationwide.

About the Role

The Clinical Solutions Division of Elsevier seeks a Physician Clinical Executive to oversee solutions related to physician workflows and performance in the healthcare provider market. The ideal candidate will have exceptional clinical, healthcare industry, HIT, and Clinical Informatics experience, along with knowledge of the Clinical Solutions portfolio and a successful track record. This role involves providing clinical expertise to support sales teams in generating revenue across North America by working with provider organizations utilizing EMR systems.

Responsibilities
  1. Providing clinical and product expertise to support sales goals through a solution-based, consultative approach at customer and prospect opportunities.
  2. Collaborating with Value-Added Resellers to promote Clinical Solutions via channel partners.
  3. Monitoring industry trends and competitive activity, sharing insights with Marketing, Product Development, and Sales teams to enhance our portfolio and sales knowledge.
  4. Participating in new hire and sales training initiatives.
  5. Collecting and sharing customer feedback and outcomes with internal stakeholders.
  6. Supporting potential customers using existing EMR partners to expedite sales.
  7. Developing and delivering effective Clinical Solutions presentations.
  8. Attending client meetings and tradeshows.
  9. Contributing to the collection of outcome measures to track product value.
  10. Participating in thought leadership activities, including speaking engagements and White Paper development.
Requirements
  • Proven clinical experience with HIT and Clinical Informatics.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.
  • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree.
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in at least one state.
  • Current Board Certification, preferably in Primary Care; Clinical Informatics Board certification is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; experience with Speechworks or Visionworks is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, MS Office, FHIR, HL-7, networks, internet applications, and Salesforce CRM.
  • Experience with Clinical Solutions products and EMRs.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare and present complex information.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for sales and promotional activities.
Other Relevant Information
  • This position can be based in most US metropolitan areas with access to a major airport.
  • Reports to the Senior Director of Clinical Executives.
