Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a casual Neonatology physician to assist on an as-needed basis. Cover shifts at St. John's and Woodwinds Hospitals, with potential coverage at additional Fairview sites as needed.

Provide comprehensive neonatal care, attend deliveries, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a busy NICU. The role requires a neonatal specialty fellowship, board eligibility/certification, and Minnesota licensure with DEA as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited ACGME Pediatric residency and a Neonatal-Perinatal fellowship training program.
• Board eligible/certified in Neonatal – Perinatal Medicine.
• Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
• Experience as a Neonatologist required

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to newborns and premature infants.
• Attend deliveries and provide emergency care for newborns.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality neonatal care.
• Prescribe medications and treatment plans for neonates and families.
• Evaluate development and coordinate imaging and lab results as needed.
• Support home care guidance for infant nutrition and growth.

Job Overview

Fairview is seeking a Casual Neonatology physician to help on an as needed basis to cover shifts at Fairview St. John's and Woodwinds Hospitals. Ability and flexibility needed to cover additional Fairview sites; Ridges Hospital and Southdale Hospital.

Practice Details:

• Schedule is based on an as needed bases
• Shifts: variable, typically 24 hour shift length
• Home call available
• Provide comprehensive care to newborns and premature infants
• Evaluate the physical and mental development of newborns
• Perform assessments of infants’ health, including ordering and interpreting lab and imaging tests
• Prescribe medications and treatment plans
• Advise parents on infant care and nutrition
• Attend deliveries and provide emergency care for newborns
• Collaborate with other healthcare team to ensure the best possible care for the newborn
• Neonatal Nurse Practitioners on Staff 24/7
