Summary

The Salisbury VA Medical Center is currently recruiting for a full-time Non-Invasive Cardiologist. Desirable candidates are Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology. The Cardiologist is a staff physician with specialized training and skills in diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases of the heart and blood vessels.

Duties

Administrative

• Serves as acting chief of the service (if appropriate), as needed.
• Provides guidance and support to nurse practitioners in the Medicine Service.
• Supervises medical students and residents assigned to the service, according to policies.
• Participates in medical center committees and quality improvement teams.
• Maintains high-quality customer service and adheres to security and privacy measures.
• Develops and evaluates professional goals annually, engaging in ongoing education.

Clinical Duties

The incumbent must remain privileged and practicing in their specialty. Qualifications include:

• Providing compassionate, appropriate patient care.
• Demonstrating knowledge of biomedical sciences and applying it to patient care, with EP/implantable device certification preferred.
• Using scientific evidence for clinical judgment and practice improvement.
• Exhibiting excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Behaving professionally, committed to ongoing development and ethical practice.
• Understanding healthcare systems to optimize patient outcomes.
