• Knowledge of the revenue cycle process.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients, families and insurance carriers with billing inquiries.
• Processes coding corrections and late charges.
• Identifies inefficient claim edits and develops necessary and new claim edits.
• Reviews and resolves claims with missing information.
• Handles edits for self-pay registrations to verify Medicaid status.
• Follows up on denials and underpaid claims using reports.
• Reviews claims in pre-bill status and coordinates with departments to resolve edits.
• Documents billing activity on patient encounters per standards.
