Qualifications

• Three years' experience in medical billing setting with active, practical experience with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outpatient physician charge capture.
• Abstract and interpret medical record data to assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes per CMS guidelines and regulations.
• Review physician documentation of evaluation and management coding for accuracy and compliance in billing codes.
• Collect and report missing, incorrect or incomplete charge slips to supervisor and practice administrator.
• Correct any claim errors relating to coding.
• Resolve coding denials.
• Educate providers and staff on proper workflows and coding practices per regulations.
• Attend training sessions on current coding practices to stay up to date on physician billing.
