Job summary

Summit Health is seeking a licensed Physician Assistant to join our Urgent Care Department in a Per Diem role in New York. You will work collaboratively with physicians and staff to deliver integrated, patient-centered care across a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physician Assistant required, NY/CT license(s) active
• Board certification in PA practice preferred
• 2+ years of related urgent care experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and time-management skills

Responsibilities

• Identify chief complaints and patient concerns
• Obtain detailed and accurate patient histories
• Perform comprehensive physical exams
• Perform procedures as needed (e.g., suturing, splinting, abscess drainage)
• Interpret diagnostic tests (EKGs, X-rays, labs)
• Educate patients and coordinate follow-up care
• Collaborate with physicians and support staff to optimize patient flow

We are seeking a licensed Physician Assistant to work collaboratively with our Urgent Care Department in a Per Diem role

Requirements Include

• Current NY/CT State License
• Board Certification
• 2+ years of related experience preferred
• Solid decision-making, analytical, time-management, and communication skills
• Experience in treating both pediatric and adult populations

Responsibilities Include

• Identifying chief complaints/issues
• Obtaining detailed and accurate patient histories
• Performing physical exams
• Performing procedures including (but not limited to) suturing, splinting and abscess draining
• Interpreting diagnostic and other test results (e.g. EKGs, X-Rays, Lab Work)
• Communicating and educating patients
• Formulating treatment plans and arranging follow-up care as needed
• Working closely with physicians and support staff to ensure efficiency and proper patient flow

Compensation Range

$75.00 - $90.00 per hour
