Job summary

Summit Health is seeking a licensed Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Urgent Care Department in a Per Diem capacity. The role requires NY/CT state licensure and board certification, with 2+ years of related experience preferred.

You will work collaboratively with physicians and support staff to provide patient-centered, multi-disciplinary care. The position emphasizes efficient patient flow, accurate histories, and comprehensive exams for both pediatric and adult

Qualifications

• Current NY/CT State License and Board Certification required.
• 2+ years of related experience preferred in urgent care or primary care.
• Proficient decision-making, analytical thinking, and time management.
• Strong communication and ability to treat pediatric and adult patients.

Responsibilities

• Identify chief complaints and obtain detailed patient histories.
• Perform physical exams and relevant procedures (suturing, splinting, abscess drainage).
• Interpret tests (EKG, X-ray, labs) and formulate treatment plans.
• Educate patients and coordinate follow-up care with the care team.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to maintain efficient patient flow.

Requirements

• Current NY/CT State License
• Board Certification
• 2+ years of related experience preferred
• Solid decision-making, analytical, time-management, and communication skills
• Experience in treating both pediatric and adult populations

Responsibilities

• Identifying chief complaints/issues
• Obtaining detailed and accurate patient histories
• Performing physical exams
• Performing procedures including (but not limited to) suturing, splinting and abscess draining
• Interpreting diagnostic and other test results (e.g. EKGs, X-Rays, Lab Work)
• Communicating and educating patients
• Formulating treatment plans and arranging follow-up care as needed
• Working closely with physicians and support staff to ensure efficiency and proper patient flow

Compensation Range

$75.00 - $90.00 per hour

The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience, individual performance, quality measures and location of position.
