Job summary

Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant to support the surgical team and patient care across OR, outpatient, ICU and progressive units under physician supervision. The role emphasizes first/second assist duties, diagnostic evaluation and adherence to established protocols.

Schedule is full-time (40 hours) with weekends and on-call requirements. New grads are welcome; licensure must be NCCPA board certified and CPR certified (BLS/PALs).

Qualifications

• Education: ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program completed.
• Licensure: NCCPA board certification required.
• CPR: Current BLS/PALs (or equivalent) CPR certification required.
• DEA and CDS licenses required for practice.
• PECOS enrollment if ordering/referring Medicare items.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient health status with diagnostic procedures and tests.
• Provide first and second assist support to the surgical team.
• Deliver therapeutic patient care in outpatient and ICU areas under physician supervision.

The Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant Under the direction, supervision and responsibility of a physician, and in accordance with established policies evaluates patient's health status through diagnostic procedures and tests. Provides support to surgical team through first and second assist. Provides therapeutic patient care in the outpatient and clinic areas, Pediatric Cardiac OR and procedural areas, Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and Pediatric Progressive and Acute Care Units under direction of a physician and in accordance with established protocols.

• Schedule: Full Time (40 hours)
• Weekends and On Call are required
• Education: Successful completion of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Licensure: - Board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
• Current CPR certification required: BLS and PALs; AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.
• DEA and CDS required.
• If you order or refer items or services for Medicare beneficiaries and you do not have an enrollment record in the Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS), you will need to submit an enrollment application to Medicare to be eligible for employment.

Salary Range:

Minimum 63.08/hour - Maximum 99.17/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
