Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant to support the surgical team as a first and second assist, under physician supervision. The role includes evaluating patients, providing therapeutic care across pediatric units, and ensuring adherence to established protocols in a high-acuity setting.

Education requires ARC-PA accredited PA training and NCCPA board certification; BLS/PALS CPR is required along with DEA/CDS registrations.

Qualifications

• ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program completed.
• Board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• CPR certification required: BLS and PALS (AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted).
• DEA and CDS registrations required.
• No experience required; new grads encouraged to apply.

The Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant Under the direction, supervision and responsibility of a physician, and in accordance with established policies evaluates patient's health status through diagnostic procedures and tests. Provides support to surgical team through first and second assist. Provides therapeutic patient care in the outpatient and clinic areas, Pediatric Cardiac OR and procedural areas, Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and Pediatric Progressive and Acute Care Units under direction of a physician and in accordance with established protocols.

• Schedule: Full Time (40 hours)
• Weekends and On Call are required
• Education: Successful completion of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Licensure: - Board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
• Current CPR certification required: BLS and PALs; AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.
• DEA and CDS required.
• If you order or refer items or services for Medicare beneficiaries and you do not have an enrollment record in the Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS), you will need to submit an enrollment application to Medicare to be eligible for employment.

Salary Range: Minimum 63.08/hour - Maximum 99.17/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
