Job summary

Windom Area Health seeks a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) to provide high-quality Primary Care and Urgent Care services in Fairmont, MN. You will care for patients of all ages, build lasting relationships, and support preventive care and wellness programs.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of related experience, MN PA licensure, and DEA eligibility. The role includes 3 ten-hour shifts weekly and alternating weekend coverage in a community-focused clinic.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.
• Minimum of one year of Primary Care, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care experience preferred.
• Physician Assistant (PA) licensed in Minnesota.
• Ability to obtain DEA certification for Minnesota.
• BLS certification; ACLS and/or PALS certification preferred.
• This position would work 3 ten-hour shifts per week, plus every other weekend (4 hours each day).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Primary Care and Urgent Care services for pediatric and adult patients.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses, injuries, and chronic medical conditions.
• Deliver preventive care, wellness screenings, and health education.
• Conduct comprehensive and focused patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and therapies consistent with clinical guidelines and scope of practice.
• Perform office-based procedures and interventions.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, specialists, and community resources.
• Advocate for patients and connect them with services that improve long-term health outcomes.
• Foster continuity of care through meaningful relationships and ongoing patient engagement.

Requirements

Required credentials:

Physician Assistant (PA), licensed in the state of Minnesota. Ability to obtain and maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota. Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileging. BLS Certified. ACLS and/or PALS certification preferred.
