Job summary

FHCSD is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to provide outpatient primary care at Lemon Grove Family Health Center. The clinic offers prenatal/postnatal care, cancer screenings, and general primary care.

Hours are Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pm. Compensation ranges from $165,000 to $195,000 annually with a sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in primary care in outpatient settings.
• Current unrestricted license to practice in the State of California.
• DEA license is required.
• CPR/BLS or ACLS/ART accreditation preferred.
• Experience with underserved populations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality medical services to a diverse patient population.
• Perform routine exams, screenings, and common procedures.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and point-of-care tests.
• Evaluate complex patients and refer to specialists as needed.
• Maintain documentation per departmental standards and EMR requirements.
• Participate in administrative duties and on-call schedule.

We are currently seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to provide outpatient primary care at Lemon Grove Family Health Center. This location provides an array of high-quality health care services, including prenatal and postnatal care, cancer screenings and general outpatient primary care.

• Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm (closed for lunch from 12:30pm – 1:15pm)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide quality and caring medical services to a diverse patient population
• Perform routine exams, common procedures and screenings
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and point-of-care tests
• Evaluate patients with complex problems and refer to appropriate specialists
• Exercise cultural sensitivity and seek assistance with translations if needed
• Complete all required documentation in accordance with departmental standards
• Comply with electronic medical record requirements
• Attend all mandatory meetings and minimize incident reports
• Use resources efficiently and practice medicine in a cost-effective manner
• Participate in Clinical Outcomes Program
• Maintain behavioral standards and respectful interactions with colleagues and patients
• Obtain good peer reviews, attend mandatory meetings and minimize incident reports
• Work toward meeting organizational targets for all metrics
• Participate in administrative duties and on-call schedule in a timely manner
• Must keep all required medical credentials active and in good standing
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience in primary care in outpatient settings
• Current unrestricted license to practice in the State of California
• DEA license
• Current American Heart Association health care provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training
• Experience with underserved, low-income, or homeless community members preferred
• Second language fluency, or experience with translation tools, desired not required
