Job description

Job Summary: Geisinger's Heart & Vascular Surgery Institute is seeking a full-time physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our growing cardiology practice in the Western Region - State College, Pennsylvania.

Job Duties:

The Advanced Practitioner will have a practice that includes outpatient clinic work in State College and inpatient consultations at the assigned hospital. This position offers no call responsibilities but will require rotating weekend coverage.

The successful Physician Assistant candidate will work under the supervision of a physician and must have completed an ARC-PA (or predecessor organization) approved physician assistant program, hold current NCCPA certification or be eligible, and have Pennsylvania State licensure.

The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will collaborate with a physician and must have completed an approved Nurse Practitioner program or be eligible for national certification suitable for the patient populations and settings of this position. Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in Pennsylvania.

Position Details:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies (Required), Master's Degree preferred.
• Experience: Relevant experience preferred.
• Certifications and Licenses: Basic Life Support Certification; Certified Physician Assistant from NCCPA.
