Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join inpatient and ambulatory care teams, delivering high-quality, cost-effective care.

This 100% FTE role features a Monday–Friday schedule 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with no holidays or on-call requirements; provides opportunities to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and to order and interpret diagnostic tests, develop treatment plans, and prescribe medications in primary care.

Qualifications

• Must have Wisconsin NP or PA licensure.
• Active RN and APRN certifications and prescriptive authority in state(s) of practice.
• Active board certification as NP or PA in area of clinical practice.

Responsibilities

As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our inpatient and ambulatory care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner OR Physician Assistant to:

• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team.
• Conduct routine physical exams.
• Conduct focused health histories and physical exams of patients with acute and/or chronic health problems.
• Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing.
• Establish a working diagnosis and develop a treatment plan.
• Prescribe medications and/or treatment and monitor patient’s response.
• Prescribe and treat within the full scope of primary care

Education

• If Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program.
• If Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.

Licenses and Certifications

• Minimum – State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure
• Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
• Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following: Adult/Gerontology Acute Care, Adult, Adult/Gerontology Primary Care, or Family.
• Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
• Active PA board certification
