PromptMed Urgent Care in Antioch, IL is hiring Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to join a fast-paced urgent care team. The PA/NP will work with the Medical Director, handling autonomous patient care with clinical support staff in a modern setting.

We seek candidates with a Master’s degree, active Illinois PA/NP license, and DEA; 2+ years of PA/NP experience, ideally in urgent care. Credentialing with Medicare and payers is required; BLS/ACLS/PALS are preferred. Start date ASAP.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in PA/NP from an accredited program and active certification.
• Current Illinois APRN/PA license, IL controlled substance license, and DEA registration.
• 2+ years of PA/NP experience, preferably in urgent care.
• Credentialing with Medicare and other payers is required.
• DOT (NRCME) certification is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent, emergent, and non-urgent patient care with Medical Director support.
• Perform exams, diagnose conditions, and create treatment plans.
• Order and perform labs, tests, imaging, procedures, and prescribe meds.
• Conduct minor procedures (wound care, suturing, I&D, biopsies).
• Communicate treatment plans to patients and collaborate with staff.
• Maintain efficient patient flow and delegate tasks to staff.
• Complete accurate documentation and ensure HIPAA standards are met.
• Participate in meetings, quality improvement, and continuing education.

PromptMed Urgent Care | Antioch, IL is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our experienced clinical team in a modern, fast-paced urgent care setting. Status: Full time
Hours: Shifts consist of 12-hour (weekday) or 8-hours (weekend), with no call or graveyard shifts.
Start Date: ASAP

About The Role

The PA/NP, working in collaboration with the company’s Medical Director, functions autonomously with a team of clinical support staff which includes Radiologic Technologists, Medical Assistants, Front Desk Receptionists and an Office Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide urgent, emergent, and non-urgent patient care with support from the Medical Director.
• Perform exams, diagnose conditions, and create individualized treatment plans.
• Order and perform labs, tests, imaging, procedures, and prescribe medications.
• Conduct minor procedures (wound care, suturing, I&D, biopsies) and apply orthopedic supports.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly to patients and collaborate with clinical staff.
• Maintain efficient patient flow and delegate tasks appropriately to support staff.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and follow all compliance and HIPAA standards.
• Participate in meetings, quality improvement efforts, and required continuing education.

Qualifications

• Graduated and received a Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Training Program or Advanced Nurse Practitioner Program and received/maintained certification.
• Must possess a current license as an Advance Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant in the State of Illinois and an Illinois controlled substance license and DEA registration with prescription privileges.
• Ideally 2+ years of practicing PA/NP experience, preferably in an urgent care setting.
• Must be able to be successfully credentialed with Medicare and other payers.
• Comfortable treating patients ages 6 months and older.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic ER, internal medicine, generalist, occupational medicine, and family practice procedures.
• Skilled in patient assessment and management with proven excellence in quality and clinical standards.
• Excellent bedside manner, strong people skills and a positive attitude/personality.
• Maintain an intense work ethic and be able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Urgent care and/or emergency department experience preferred, but not required.
• Current BLS/ACLS/PALS certification or ability to acquire.
• DOT (NRCME) certification a plus, but not required.
• Experience or familiarity with Velocidoc EMR a plus, but not required.
